Lead Industrial Designer E-Bike (m/f/d)

For an incredible premium ebike Project that focuses on sustainability and intends to make cities around the world a better and more livable place, we are looking for a Lead Industrial Designer (m/f/d). The position is located in Berlin but flexible work models incl. partly remote work can be offered if you live in any other destination in Europe.


Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the product, engineering, operations, and marketing teams

  • Combining creative thinking and industrial design skills

  • Distilling input from various stakeholders, user research and own observations and intuition into a clear design vision

  • Design for this role includes vehicle chassis, cockpits, displays, touch points (grips, seats, pedals), battery packs, battery chargers, locks, brakes, lighting, cargo carriers, motors, and electric systems integration, CAD Skills

  • Always be looking for ways to add value to the team, communicating visions and ideas, gaining feedback and helping everyone to see the future together

  • Small amount of international travel to manufacturing and supply chain partners


Qualification

  • University degree in Industrial Design, Product Design or equivalent

  • Several years experience in the bicycle or related mobility industry in a similar role

  • Experience with Asian and/or European manufacturers and multicultural understanding

  • Deep knowledge and a strong understanding of materials and manufacturing processes, including forging, die casting, investment casting, stamping, injection molding, extruding, CNC machining, welding and brazing

  • A good eye for esthetic and trends

  • Good English Skills needed, any other language appreciated but not a must

  • Hands-On prototyping and highly ambitious person

  • Ability and Willingness to Travel
