Head of Marketing Communication (m/f/d)

Our customer is a high-end MTB manufacturer based in Germany and one of the key players in its segment. For further expansion, we are looking for a Head of Marketing Communication (m/f/d).


Your Mission


  • Create seasonal and annual marketing plans that are aligned with the companies’ objectives.

  • Activate the brand strategy & own the marketing budget.

  • Create and activate marketing campaigns to launch new bikes and other products.

  • Define measurable goals for each marketing campaign.

  • Lead and develop the marketing team in day-to-day operations.

  • Monitor the team goals, execution, and budgets.

  • Guide and work closely with the content creation team to ensure marketing materials are created for each communication channel.

  • Define and coordinate cost efficient media planning across all appropriate own, earned and paid communication channels.

  • Adapt the marketing activities and messages based on the stage of the customer journey (e.g. creating awareness, driving traffic, converting into sales) and based on the communication channel (e.g. Social Media, PR, etc.).

  • Work closely with the e-commerce team and performance marketing team to ensure the marketing activities are resulting into sales conversion.

  • Work closely with the product & purchasing teams to ensure best in class product marketing.

  • Create monthly reports for the marketing department.

  • Identify opportunities to reach new market segments and expand market share.

  • Research about the latest marketing strategies and stay on top of new developments in marketing and the bike industry.



Your Profile


  • University Degree in Marketing, Sales, or similar.

  • Proven 6+ years of experience as Head of Marketing, Marketing Manager, Director of Marketing or a similar role.

  • Hands-on experience in prolific marketing campaigns.

  • Outstanding knowledge of the bike industry and passionate about mountain biking.

  • Strategic skills: proven track record in building effective multi-channel marketing strategies.

  • Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to problem-solving.

  • Independent decision maker with an open and positive attitude.

  • Hands-on mentality, problem-solving and organizational skills.

  • Highly goal-oriented individual with excellent communication skills.

  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, German is a plus.

  • Experience in people management as well as training and development of employees.

  • Outstanding ability to plan and manage budgets.

  • Ability to quickly prioritize and assign tasks.

  • Excellent leadership and project management skills.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Self-learner, keeps oneself up to date on new developments in both marketing and the bike industry.
